Paul Oudom is employed as an attorney for a law firm in San Diego, California. At night, he secretly trains in hopes of one day fulfilling his life long dream of playing for the Laotian Basketball Association (LBA). If drafted by a team, he insists that he will represent proudly and promises to stay humble and grounded, despite all the Kips he’ll be making.

Meiling Arounnarath is a reporter for The News & Observer and The Chapel Hill News in the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill area. She graduated from University of Georgia in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in comparative literature. She grew up in Atlanta, Ga., where her parents still live, and she moved to North Carolina in 2005.

Douandara Phomsavanh graduated from UC San Diego with a B.A. in Economics, and is currently working for a small investment firm as the V.P. of Marketing and Operations. When she’s not working too late at the office, her favorite past-times includes watching classic TV sitcoms, sewing, shopping the malls – always on the look out for cute shoes and purses, drinking wine, and dining out. When she grows up, she’d like to be an Entrepreneur.

Siamphone grew up in Northern California, then went to college at Yale University in Connecticut, where she received a BA in History. She is currently working in the San Francisco Bay Area. She loves tennis, hiking and the occasional karaoke.

Roy B. Kim. When Roy is not eating, drinking and sleeping he’s busy working conjuring up new business ideas and products, from a better New York City hot dog cart to the next iPod killer, his mind never stops thinking about the next big thing. Currently, he is betting all his chips on Lao Roots. If his gamble doesn’t pay off, he’ll return to his day job as a commercial office building manager and attorney in New York City.

Daniel Chansouk is originally from France but grew up Indiana and Wisconsin. He eventually moved to San Diego to be with the love of his life, where they were married this past summer. He is presently working as a system analyst and attending school part-time. When he's not busy, he can be found in front of a computer, playing on his xbox 360, spending time with his wife, traveling, or hanging out with other staff members.

Bee Chansouk-Vongdeuane comes to us from Oklahoma City, where she was born and raised. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Psychology and is currently working at a company in downtown San Diego. Always ready to feed her addictions, she's usually planning the next trip with her hubby, browsing the internet and networking sites, assisting with various projects, or absorbed in her latest novel or movie(s).

Vong Sopha is currently working at the San Diego County Office as a System Tech/Analyst. Born in Vientiane, he and his family migrated to San Diego at the age of three, where he currently resides. He dedicates most of his nights and weekends to helping out with the magazine. You can either find him at the local gym playing pickup basketball or socially drinking the weekend away.

Vayakone Sphabmixay currently works in North County San Diego pushing papers for papers and dedicates her weekends to the magazine, some fun in the sun and binge eating. She loves to travel anywhere and everywhere, learning new languages & culture, eating and meeting new people.

Kanya Lai-Panyavong graduated with a bachelor degree in Journalism, with a minor in English from Middle Tennessee State University. She now manages a Thai restaurant in Nashville called Golden Thai. She loves food, film, theatre and admits to being to being a little Anglophile.

Danny Khotsombath was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minn. He instructed Spanish at the University of Minnesota while pursuing his Master of Arts degree in literature. He is an academic adviser for a multicultural student population and adviser for the Lao Student Association. As an active Lao community member, he serves as vice president of the Lao Cultural Center, where he also coordinates a Lao Youth Program every Saturday. Danny hopes to get his Ph.D. in the future.
